What you need before you start
An active ChatGPT account (Pro, Plus, Business, Enterprise, or Education)
A Pipeboard account with Facebook and/or Google Ads connected
Connect in 4 Simple Steps
Enable Developer Mode in Settings
Go to Settings → Apps → Advanced settings → Developer mode
- 1.Open ChatGPT Settings (click your profile icon)
- 2.Navigate to Apps
- 3.Click Advanced settings
- 4.Enable Developer mode
Create a New App
Click "Create app" next to Advanced settings in the Apps section
After enabling Developer mode, you will see a "Create app" button. Click it to add an MCP server. You can add Meta Ads, Google Ads, or both.

Use the App in a Conversation
Start a new chat, enable Developer mode from the Plus menu, and select your MCP app

How to get the best responses from ChatGPT with MCP
Be explicit about the tool:
"Use the Meta Ads MCP to show me my active campaigns" or "Use the Google Ads MCP to list my search campaigns"
Disallow alternatives:
"Do not use built-in browsing or other tools; only use the MCP apps."
Specify sequencing when needed:
"First call list_customers to find my accounts. Then call get_campaigns with the account ID."
Troubleshooting
If your MCP app does not work, try these steps
- Start a new ChatGPT conversation (click "+" at the top).
- Choose Developer mode from the Plus menu.
- Select your MCP app (Meta Ads MCP or Google Ads MCP) from the list.
- Check that the app appears under "Drafts" in Settings → Apps.
