Pipeboard connects your Google Analytics, Google Ads, and Google Merchant Center accounts to AI assistants like Claude and ChatGPT through the Model Context Protocol (MCP). This page explains, in plain English, what each integration does and exactly which Google permissions it needs — and why.
Pipeboard is a platform that lets AI assistants read and act on your advertising, analytics, and shopping data on your behalf, in natural language. Instead of clicking through dashboards or writing API code, you ask questions like “how did my campaigns perform last week?” and the assistant pulls the answer directly from the relevant Google account.
To do that, you connect the Google product(s) you want to use through Google’s official OAuth consent screen. Pipeboard requests only the permissions for the product you connect — connecting Google Analytics does not request Google Ads access, and vice versa. The sections below map every permission to the integration that uses it.
Shared by every Google connection (non-sensitive)
Regardless of which Google product you connect, Pipeboard reads your basic Google account identity so it can label the connection. It is never used for anything else.
.../auth/userinfo.emailSee your primary Google Account email addressHow Pipeboard uses it: Identifies which Google account a connection belongs to — essential when you connect more than one Google account.
.../auth/userinfo.profileSee your personal info, including any personal info you’ve made publicly availableHow Pipeboard uses it: Shows the connected account name in your Pipeboard connections list so you can tell your connections apart.
Lets your AI assistant answer questions about your Google Analytics 4 properties — sessions, users, traffic sources, conversions, and revenue — and optionally manage property configuration, all in plain English.
Permissions this integration requests
.../auth/analytics.readonlySee and download your Google Analytics dataHow Pipeboard uses it: Runs GA4 reports (standard, realtime, pivot) and lists the properties, dimensions, metrics, and conversion events available to you. This is the read access behind every reporting answer.
.../auth/analytics.editEdit Google Analytics management entitiesHow Pipeboard uses it: Used only when you explicitly ask to change a property setup — creating or updating custom dimensions and metrics, or creating and deleting conversion events. Never used to alter your historical analytics data.
Lets your AI assistant manage Google Ads campaigns — review performance, optimize keywords and bids, run GAQL reports, and create or update campaigns — through natural language.
Permissions this integration requests
.../auth/adwordsSee, edit, create, and delete your Google Ads accounts and dataHow Pipeboard uses it: Reads campaign, keyword, and performance data and applies the changes you ask for — creating, updating, or pausing campaigns, ad groups, keywords, and budgets. New campaigns are created in PAUSED status by default so you review before anything goes live.
Lets your AI assistant analyze and maintain your Google Shopping presence — product listings, item issues and diagnostics, price competitiveness, best sellers, and Merchant Center account health.
Permissions this integration requests
.../auth/contentManage your product listings and accounts for Google ShoppingHow Pipeboard uses it: Reads your Merchant Center accounts, products, and diagnostics (issues, price competitiveness, best sellers, performance) and, when you ask, updates product attributes such as destinations and custom labels. Used only to surface insights and apply the changes you request.
